Shweta, I am sorry you had such a bad time of it. Poor Herbie. ?I know those vets (although I do not live there - I know of them through the House Rabbit Society and I have met them). I am shocked that Dr. Saver won't treat your little guinea pig. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone better in that area. They were always my first referral.
You can go to http://www.rabbit.org and on the right, click on? the 'VETS' icon. Then see if you can find any in your area.

Subject: [Stones] Vets in NYC/ Long Island area
Hello, cute gps and slaves!
our names are herbie, kerbie (poopsies together) and slave shweta.??? we are new to this bladder stones group.
another supportive slave informed me of this website and group!? bless her soul!
my baby herbie got an xray two weeks ago. we found out she has 3 bladder stones.? unfortunately, dr. saver, her vet, said she is too old to get surgery.
currently, herbie is alert and eating fine; however seems like she is in pain when she defecates and urinates.? sigh...
we are looking for a new vet.? i had an exchange with the vet last week, which she apparently did not like and sent us a "goodbye" letter; which is great since i was thinking that i need to find another one anyway!? i didnt think it was a very professional thing to do esp when you put a gp on antibiotics and metacam.? anyhow, it is what it is and we are happy to leave.
therefore, before herbie's condition gets worse, i need to find her a new vet!? anyone know of one in the nyc or long island area?
HELP!?
thank you!
the poopsies and shweta
