June 1 , 2001 to July, 2003

Duke, our baby boy, was brought home June 1, 2001. At the time he could fit in the palm of our hand. After two years of popcorning, chewingon "Daddy's work papers" and Mommy's newspapers, eating all of our veggies, and thinking that he ran the house, he got a UTI in July 2003. He was squealing in pain when he went to the bathroom so we rushed him to the ER where he was put on antibiotics (baytril). However, after afew days of not getting better, we took him back to the vet for an x-ray. The x-ray revealed a stone. Our last hope was to have the surgery right away to remove the stone. Duke was very sleepy from the surgery. He would nibble on carrot once in awhile, but would not drink. Going to thebathroom was still very painful and the medications (meloxicam) did not help. The antibiotics were trying to help keep infection down, while Duke tried to get through the surgery. Three days after surgery Duke had diarrhea and started to have seizures. On the way to the ER he died in mommy's arms. Mommy sang to you as you crossed over the rainbow bridge.

Mommy and Daddy will always love you little baby poo. You are our "guinea-dog" (or as mommy said--little boo boo baby) and we will playtug-o-war once again with your carrots. We love you and miss you so very much.
